Mermay! (2020)

Hi everyone! It's Mermay, and everyone is posting amazing artworks featuring mermaids, merfolk, fish people, etc.

As I'm rather unfamiliar with the subject I thought it would be nice to give it a shot. It was great practice for both water, fish scales and human skin (though stylized of course). My favourite part was figuring out how to add aquamarine to red hair in a way that doesn't look too jarring. In fact, I'm even more enthusiastic about that kind of thing now and want to paint more.
